My Take on the ABC.com’s Candidate Match Tool

I just wanted to tell everyone I just tested the ABC News.com Candidate Match tool. It’s quite interesting. The top three candidates it chose me for all dropped out. Oh well.

I think it would help for some people though. I think it would have helped me earlier in the game when I was not sure at all who to vote for. This tool is very much designed for people who do not know anything that is going on currently.

I see one disadvantage of using this tool, however. It causes persons to vote on a watered-down perspective of the candidate. I personally think it is best for Americans to get past the hype of the election and actually research what the candidate is all about.

I did extensive research on candidates before I made my choice. My primary source was VoteSmart.org and then I went to various web news sources in order to check various facts such as whether or not my candidate was in or out.

Speaking of in or out…I decided to actually write my candidate in even though he was not on my state’s ballot. You have that right as citizens. I don’t know what good it does to write a candidate in, but it was my way of saying I am sick and tired of not being able to vote for who I want to vote for.

Anyway, back to my point. I would recommend as a preliminary voting quide to use the ABC.com tool. However, it is up to you to do further research.
